About GEER

GEER, or Great Eastern Endurance Run, is BACK after 15 years. Sherando Lake has been closed to events, but open again for GEER in 2025. This beloved ultra boasts one of the most scenic courses on the East Coast and is a must-do event.

The stunning course in the Blue Ridge Mountains makes it one of the most beautiful races in the USA

GEER includes three distances: 40 miles, 20 miles and 10 miles. The course is all single track trail and jeep roads with very little pavement around the Sherando Lake Recreation Area.
