Ultra Race of Champions Partners with NATHAN Sports

May 19th, 2014, Copper Mountain, CO- The Ultra Race of Champions (UROC) and NATHAN Sports have announced a partnership for 2014.  As a leader in the hydration category, NATHAN will provide support for the athletes at UROC to maximize their performance on race day.  UROC, now in its fourth running, has quickly become one of the most renowned races in the World.  Following its mission to create the Championship for the sport of ultra distance running and maintaining the inclusive quality of the sport, on September 6th UROC will welcome many of the best long distance runners in the sport alongside the citizen field.  The 2014 UROC will be held at Copper Mountain Ski Resort, Colorado, with a formidable mountain course and world-class start/finish location.

“NATHAN is one of the most successful and detail-oriented brands on the market,” says Race Director James Gill III.  “We are very excited about this partnership, as it directly benefits the runners and hence the sport itself.  NATHAN products have been accompanying the sport for years, and the company knows how to innovate to stay on top of the latest research.  UROC and NATHAN share the ultimate goal to support and advance the sport and, because of that, I cannot think of a better partner.”

"All of us at NATHAN are excited to be involved in this great event,” says Brent Hollowell, Vice President of Marketing for Nathan Sports.  “With a history of great racing and new course worthy of the talent level that is competing at UROC, we can't think of a better platform to discuss the importance of a proper hydration plan to running performance.  What we love about ultrarunning is that it is one of the purest forms of competition where every single finish is hard-earned. It’s an honor for us to be able to support the athletes and the events that are helping to bring the sport to greater prominence. Certainly, UROC is at the head of that list and we’re really looking forward to the partnership.”

NATHAN will also be present at the Champions’ Village, the Race Expo taking place on Friday and Saturday (September 5th and 6th) at the Burning Stones Plaza in Copper Mountain.  The race will cover 100 kilometers of some of the most spectacular mountain terrain covering many of the Copper Mountain trails and jeep roads and summiting Copper Peak and Union Peak.  The event also includes the Über Rock 50K and Cruxy Half Marathon.
