Ultra Race of Champions Encourages Everyone to Be a Champion with New Ambassador Program

April 14th, 2015, Auburn CA:  The Ultra Race of Champions is proud to announce its amateur athlete ambassador program. UROC, known for being one of the few ultra distance running events to offer a prize purse, has evolved into a true championship event where elites come to race the best of the best, on one course, on one day.

“The mission behind UROC though, isn’t to only be for the elites” says Alyssa Godesky, Director of Marketing for Bad to the Bone. “This race is certainly one where the best athletes in the world come to compete, but that will not overshadow the accomplishments of your amateur runners this year in Auburn. We have some irreplaceable personalities who come out year after year and are truly living the UROC mentality that everyone can ‘Be a Champion.’”

To highlight this for 2015, the Ultra Race of Champions has brought on board two brand ambassadors: Ken “All Day!” Michal and Catra “Dirt Diva” Corbett.

Inspiration is easy to come by when you’re talking to Catra Corbett. A finisher of over 200 ultras with 114 of them being 100 miles or more, she has seen it all! She will be bringing that wealth of knowledge to UROC this year along with Ken Michal. Ken is a multiple 200 mile run finisher, and now hosts the Running Stupid Podcast.

The goals of the program are simple: to share the experience of the Ultra Race of Champions further into the community and inspire others to “Be a Champion” through a positive outlook and excellent sportsmanship.

The Ultra Race of Champions will be introducing Catra and Ken to runners in the coming weeks on the race’s Facebook page.  If you are interested in the Ultra Race of Champions Ambassador program please contact This email address is being protected from spambots.
