Directions to Camp Blue Ridge (Start) from I-81
  • The address is: 529 Old Mill Road, Montebello, Virginia 24464
  • I-81 to Exit 205 (Raphine/Steeles Tavern)
  • East on Hwy 606 to Hwy 11
  • Left on Hwy 11 for 200 yds, right on Hwy 56 for 8½ miles to Montebello
  • Left at post office in Montebello on Hwy 667
  • Camp entrance is first right. GPS use is not advised. The Camp phone is 540-377-2413
Directions to Skylark- Finish
  • Skylark is located at mile marker 25 on the Blue Ridge Parkway
  • The address is 24981 Blue Ridge Pkwy, Raphine, VA 24472
  • You can reach the Blue Ridge Parkway by taking exit 99 from I-64
  • From exit 99, go southbound on the Blue Ridge Parkway to mile post 25
  • You can also reach the Blue Ridge Parkway from I-81 by following directions above
  • Once you reach the Blue Ridge Parkway from Hwy 56, take the exit for the Blue Ridge Parkway and go northbound for about 1 mile
Directions to Whetstone North (off the Blue Ridge Parkway) from Camp Blue Ridge- 2.5 miles
  • Watch for runners on the road. Exit Camp Blue Ridge from Old Mill Road
  • Left on Route 667, Fork Mountain Lane
  • Immediate right on Hwy 56, Crabtree Falls Hwy
  • Left on Route 603, Irish Creek Road
  • Right on Route 813, Whetstone Ridge Rd
  • Cross the Blue Ridge Parkway (watch for runners) and park at the Ranger station. The Whetstone trailhead will be on your right.
Directions to Whetstone South (off Irish Creek Road) from Whetstone North- 5.1 miles
  • Cross the Blue Ridge Parkway (watch for runners) and go straight on Route 813, Whetstone Ridge Rd
  • Right on Route 603, Irish Creek Road
  • Stay on Irish Creek Road (it will go from paved the gravel). After about 4.7 miles, you will see the Whetstone Trailhead on your right
  • Please park off Irish Creek Road and do not block traffic
Directions to Whetstone North from Whetstone South- 5.1 miles
  • Retrace your steps on Route 603, Irish Creek Road. Stay on Irish Creek Road for 4.7 miles
  • Turn left on Route 813, Whetstone Ridge Road
  • Cross the Blue Ridge Parkway (watch for runners) and park at the Ranger Station
  • The Whetstone trailhead will be on your right
Directions to Skylark from Whetstone North- 8.8 miles
  • From the Ranger station, make a left on the Blue Ridge Parkway traveling northbound on the Blue Ridge Parkway
  • Watch for runners on the road
  • After 4 miles, you will see a large tree farm on your right: this is Skylark
  • Make a right at the entrance and follow the parking signs
  • Please no dogs at Skylark
Directions to White Rock Gap from Skylark- 6.6 miles
  • Exit Skylark and make a right (northbound) on the Blue Ridge Parkway
  • Watch for runners on the road
  • After 6.6 miles, you will arrive at White Rock Gap
  • The gravel parking lot is on your left
Directions to Sherando Lake Recreation Area from White Rock Gap- 8.8 miles
  • Make a left on the Blue Ridge Parkway (northbound)
  • Stay on the BRPW for 2.2 miles
  • Make a left on Route 814. Stay on Route 814 for 3.8 miles. Straight on Route 664
  • Left into Sherando Lake Rec Area. Go through the entrance booth (fee area)
  • Blue Loop trailhead will be on your right before the bridge. Park in designated areas
Directions to Skylark (finish) from Sherando Lake- 15.4 miles
  • Exit the Sherando Lake Recreation Area. Make a right onto Route 664, Mt Torrey Rd
  • Stay straight onto Route 814, Love Road. Make a right on the Blue Ridge Parkway
  • Watch for runners on the road. They will be running on the Blue Ridge Parkway and crossing it several times
  • Stay on the Blue Ridge Parkway to the entrance of Skylark
  • Make a left into Skylark. Please no dogs at Skylark. Follow the parking signs

100k Trail Race

Point-to-point course starting at Camp Blue Ridge and ending at Skylark Nature Preserve and Lodge. The course has 8,696 feet of gain and 7,940 feet of loss and it's 80% single track trail and double track trails with 10% on gravel and 10% on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The time limit for the 100k is 19:00 hours. The race starts at 6:00am at Camp Blue Ridge. There will be a shuttle from the finish (Skylark) to the start (Camp Blue Ridge) on race morning. Shuttle information coming soon.

50k Trail Race

Point-to-point course starting at Camp Blue Ridge and ending at Skylark Nature Preserve and Lodge. The course has 5,345 feet of gain and 4,588 feet of loss and it's 80% single track trail and double track trails with 10% on gravel and 10% on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The time limit for the 50k is 10:00 hours. The race starts at 6:00am at Camp Blue Ridge. There will be a shuttle from the finish (Skylark) to the start (Camp Blue Ridge) on race morning. Shuttle information coming soon.

25k Trail Race

A loop course starting and ending at Skylark Nature Preserve and Lodge. The course has 3,153 feet of gain and 3,153 feet of loss and it's 70% single track trail and double track trails with 10% on gravel and 20% on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The race starts at 9:00am at Skylark Nature Preserve.

Course Markings

The course is very well marked. However, please familiarize yourself with the general course layout. If you get lost, please retrace your steps to the location where you initially got lost and pick up the course from there. Unless instructed during the race briefing, you should go no more than 1/4 mile without seeing a marker.
