Ultra Race of Champions Welcomes Long Distance Phenom Camille Herron

Auburn, CA – September 1, 2016- The Ultra Race of Champions (UROC), a 100 kilometers trail race based in Auburn, California that strives to create the Super Bowl for the sport of ultra distance running, welcomes Camille Herron to its 2016 Women’s Field. UROC has been building a very competitive field for its 2016 edition, which will take place on September 24: the race’s mission is to bring together the best long distance runners on a diverse course that challenges road runners’ and trail runners’ skills alike, without favoring one type of runner. Camille is a very accomplished road runner who has been making waves in the world of trail running and strives to excel at both disciplines. Her most recent personal bests include a win and the Women’s Team Gold at the 2015 100 kilometers World Championship with a time of 7:08:35, a 50 mile personal best of 5:38:41 and a Marathon personal best of 2:37:14. Camille is represented by Mark Mastalir of Millennium Sports Marketing (http://www.millenniumsportsmarketing.com/). Her sponsors include Marathonguide.com and Nathan Sports. She can be found on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at runcamille.

“Camille Herron represents everything that the Ultra Race of Champions hopes to accomplish” say James Russell Gill III, Bad to the Bone Sport’s CEO and UROC founder. “UROC’s goal is to attract the best long distance runners from around the world to measure themselves on a leveled playing field. Camille’s desire to continue to prove herself across multiple running disciplines is a perfect match for UROC. We look forward to seeing her enthusiasm on the trails on race day.”

“I appreciate Gill reaching out to me about the Ultra Race of Champions and striving to bring together a solid group of athletes” says Herron about competing at UROC. “I want to race the best competition and prove that I can excel on the trails as I do on the roads. There is something very extraordinary in me: now, I am learning how to translate this feeling to the trails and showing the world what I am capable of. It brings me great joy with each trail race to figure out how to spread my wings and fly!” Herron will be competing for the $21,500 cash purse, $10,000 of which is allocated to the women’s and men’s winners ($5,000 each).

UROC is open to everyone and will take place on September 24th, 2016 in Auburn, California. It will offer three options for runners: 100K, 50K and 25K. As a part of its mission to create the Super Bowl for the sport and support the athletes, UROC offers a $21,500 cash purse. Runners can follow UROC on social media on Facebook and Twitter (@UROCUltraRace).
